Unfortunately there does not appear to be a silver bullet yet. Which software you use depends on how important multiway video is.

I think the safest bet is for everyone to download a copy of ivisit, but you should probably try it out first before dishing out money. Otherwise if AOL IM supports multiway video then that’s a free solution.

Regarding Tea

I very much enjoy tea. Today I was instigated to search online for caffeine content of green tea, which led me to the Stash Tea web site. Stash provides a lot of interesting pages on tea, from its history to varieties. The coolest part is that all tea comes from a single plant species, the Camellia sinensis. Enjoy.

My Thoughts on Learning

(first posted on 5 Jan 2004)

People in general learn using either or both of three methods: by free choice, by necessity, or by force. Obviously someone will learn the most when (s)he learns by choice, because presumably then one is actually interested in the topic.

John Holland has beautifully described and implemented exactly what I have been thinking about concerning an organism simulator. I have wanted to build a program that reasonably simulates the processes of life, however without the complexity and details of biochemistry. Holland has generalized these capabilities in his framework, and I am pleased that at least someone is working on the problem.
